December 2009 NJLMSC Annual Board meeting minutes posted
2/26/10 NJ Masters Swimming congratulates the following New Jersey Masters swimmers for their respective levels of commitment to United States Masters Swimming. All 2009 award recipients will be presented awards at the 2010 Annual New Jersey Masters Swimming Awards Banquet and Social to be held on the evening of Saturday, May 8, 2010. The awards are each customized with the commensurate years of continuous NJ LMSC membership and can be viewed on the NJ Masters website. 

Your invitation and event registration form will be forthcoming, but in the meantime, mark those calendars for May 8, 2010!!

 The guest speaker this year will be U.S. Masters Swimming Eastern US Coach and Club Development Coordinator, Jim Halstead. Additionally, there will be a pre-banquet workout at the Rahway YMCA from 3:30pm - 5:00pm for those interested.  The banquet will be held next door to the Rahway YMCA from 6:00pm - 10:00pm. To conclude the evening, we will again be having door prizes!!

If you have any NJ Masters swimming photos that you would like to share with your fellow Masters swimmers as part of the banquet slide show, please e-mail them to Ed Tsuzuki  edtsuzuki@comcast.net   by April 24th.  We would love to add your photos to the montage celebrating the NJ Masters swimming community throughout the years!

Any award recipient is also eligible to purchase an award of an achievement level that has already been surpassed and can do so at the banquet. 2/24/10 The Ocean County YMCA hosted the OCY Unofficial Team Championship SCY meet on 2/14/10.

Congratulations to Ridgewood YMCA who won the meet with 452 points.  Ocean County was second with 430 points and Wyckoff YMCA was third with 198 points.

CONGRATULATIONS to the NJ LMSC for their incredible participation in this event! Out of all LMSCs, New Jersey is #3!  And, the Colonies Zone is the #1 Zone with 57,456 miles swum!  The next closest zone is the Dixie Zone with 38,823 miles.

This event is open to ALL registered USMS members.  To participate, simply submit your total yardage in your on-line FLOG (under MyUSMS). For more details about this fitness event, go to GO THE DISTANCE on the USMS website.

1/23/10 The NJ LMSC is pleased to announce that the much anticipated Annual 100 x 100s Event is scheduled for Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Rutgers University Sonny Werblin pool from 8am - noon. All 2010 USMS registered NJ Masters Swimmers are invited to attend!

1/23/10 The meet formerly known as 'March Madness' will be held on April 10, 2010 at the John Witherspoon Pool in Princeton. Mark your calendars and stayed tuned for more details!!
1/22/10 On Sunday, February 14th, the Ocean County YMCA will once again be hosting the OCY Unofficial Team Championship SCY meet. The meet will be split into two sessions again this year with the 1000 free event in the morning (9:15am warmup; 10:00am start) and a second session for all other events starting in the afternoon (12:00pm noon warmup; 12:40pm start)

Entry form must be received by 5:00pm Thursday, February 4th

1/22/10 Emergency Rule Change for Swimwear (from USMS.org)

The USMS Rules Committee and USMS Executive Committee have approved emergency rule changes to the USMS swimwear rules due to the recent FINA Masters swimwear rule changes.
