December 16th, 2016 - Congratulations to Christopher Gibson (60) who set new NJ LMSC records in the men's 60-64 1500 meter free for both the Long Course and Short Course events. On June 19, Chris swam a 1500 LCM time of 19:47.94 at the Shut up and Swim Roy Dessloch Invitational meet at the Westside Aquatics Complex in Greenville, SC. Chris then swam a 19:40.43 1500 SCM in the Southern Masters SCM Swimming Championships at the University of New Orleans, LA Lakefront Arena Swim Center on December 11, 2016.

December 16th, 2016 - Congratulations to the following swimmers who set new NJ LMSC SCM records at the Somerset County YMCA Pentathlon Festival at the Somerset Valley YMCA in Bridgewater, NJ on December 10, 2016.

December 12, 2016 -  The November/December Fastlane is now available online! 

December 1, 2016 - Congratulations to Paul Kiell (86) who set two new NJ LMSC SCY records at the Sussex County YMCA Adult Mini-Meet on October 15, 2016.  Paul swam the 200 yard freestyle in 3:39.24 and the 100 yard backstroke in 1:48.88.

November 22, 2016 - Congratulations to the Flipside Aquatics Club for setting two new NJ LMSC SCM records in the men's 100-119 age group at the 10th Bearcat Masters SCM Invitational at Baruch College in New York City on October 22, 2016. Ryan O'Shaughnessy (26), John Franklin (29), Ofer Finkler (34) and Ashley Mak (28) broke the 200 meter medley relay record with a 1:52.40 and the same four (Ashley, Ofer, John and Ryan) broke the 200 meter free relay record with a 1:41.01.

November 21, 2016 - Congratulations to Janet Moeller (81) who set a new NJLMSC short course yards record in the 100 breaststroke with a 2:17.63 at the 5th Annual EEX Masters Meet at The College of New Jersey on November 6, 2016. 

November 21, 2016 - Congratulations to Michelle Davidson (45) who set a new NJLMSC short course yards record in the 200 butterfly with a 2:30.31 at the Colonies Zone Short Course Yards Championships at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia on April 10, 2016.  

November 21, 2016 - Congratulations to Bob Hopkins (74) who set new NJLMSC short course meters records at the 8th Annual UVAC Leef Peepers Mini Meet at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, Vermont on October 22, 2016.  Bob set new records in the 100 IM with a 1:32.72 and in the 200 IM with a 3:30.13.  Bob also won the 400 meter free with a 6:36.49 which, along with his 100 and 200 IM swims, set new meet records!

October 20, 2016 – New Jersey continues to show its strength in the nationwide Go the Distance fitness event by by holding on to the number 3 spot out of all 52 LMSCs in both total miles logged as well as number of participants! NJ's total mileage of 29,050 is outpaced only by Pacific and Southern Pacific at 64,458 and 30,720 miles respectively.  Interestingly, Pacific, which boasts a total membership of 12,164 has 331 participants (2.7%) and Southern Pacific, with total membership of 5,020 has 166 participants (3.3%) while NJ has 139 participants which represents 8.9% of the 1,563 USMS members!  If you haven't already signed up for the 2016 event, please consider participating in this terrific fitness event. This free on-line event is a great way to keep a log (you can log all of your fitness activities – not just swimming) and also serves as a tremendous motivator for you to stay consistent. For the NJ LMSC membership note that you can also use GTD to track your mileage for the Swim University fitness event. To participate, simply register and then submit your total yardage in your on-line FLOG (under MyUSMS). For more details about this fitness event, go to GO THE DISTANCE on the USMS website.
