2014 Swim clinic

Masters World Record Holder, Karlyn Pipes, returned to NJ for two USMS Sanctioned Swim Clinic Events at the Raritan Bay Area YMCA.  Twenty-two Masters Swimmers attended the "Faster Freestyle" morning session, and 16 attended the afternoon "Open Water" Clinic.  From beginners to the advanced tri-athletes, all swimmers learned more efficient ways to swim freestyle, as well as different strategies on how to swim in open water competition.  These athletes learned how to warm up, where to start in open water races, drafting, sighting, and much more.  Many thanks to Karlyn for making the trip from Hawaii to the east coast!  A great time was had by all participants!

November 5, 2014 - (MEET CANCELLED) We regret to inform you that we will have to cancel our 4th Annual Thanksgiving Classic Masters Meet scheduled for this weekend, November 8th and 9th. We realize that this is short notice, and feel terribly about pulling the plug, but we left the entries open until the deadline holding out hope that we might get enough participants to make the meet financially viable for us, but unfortunately, we did not reach our target. We will run an Easter Classic in April of 2015 when the Short Course Yard venue is more relevant to the Masters Community.  We will follow the exact same order of events and format for this new meet, and hope that by publicizing the meet early, we will be able to generate enough interest to get this event off the ground.   Again, Eastern Express sincerely apologizes for this lost opportunity, but we are hopeful that the hosting of our first SCY Easter Classic in the Spring of 2015 will be the start of a new tradition and give swimmers something to train for during those long winter months!   Thank you for your support and understanding, and we hope to see you next Spring -- Mike Randazzo, Eastern Express, Head Coach/Meet Director
